localization, from zero languages to every market

localization preview

When I took this on, almost nothing we shipped existed in more than one language. By the time I handed it to a dedicated localization manager, the whole company was localized. The app, the websites, the blog, public documentation, every partnership, every push notification. All of it.

It started small. I brought on virtual assistants to translate the app. It quickly became a company-wide function, run through a single localization platform, with me owning it end to end.

I hired professional translators on Upwork, trained the AI with a style guide for every language, and kept a strict terminology hub so the vocabulary stayed consistent across everything we published. I also handled the constant stream of ad-hoc translations the business needed.

I negotiated the software contract too, and brought it down by roughly €70,000.

The result was reach. Every market we sold and operated in could read the product, the docs, and the updates in their own language instead of guessing. I built the whole thing into a function and handed it off, running.
